Thermographic Inspection Simulation of One Kind of Rail Defects

چکیده

Abstract Rail is an important foundation of rail transit, and defects on the may pose a serious threat to transit. As new non-destructive testing method, thermographic detection shows excellent application prospect. In order verify whether technology can be used detect rail, especially at bottom rail. The ANSYS software model rails under different conditions, heat flow simulation experiment carried out obtain temperature change results when passes through it does not. existence location determined by observing how changes due defects. Although show that surface fracture towards edge clearly detected thermal modeling laser heating for transverse cracks exist near center bottom, experiments still cannot distinguish differences same observation current parameters. So necessary further optimize experimental process, or increase parameters, so method better applied

Thermographic Inspection of Composite Materials

Thermography is a non-contact NDT technique for inspection of materials in wide application areas, including corrosion detection in metals, and delamination, porosity and moisture detection in composite materials. Composites often are highly anisotropic in nature. This anisotropy coupled with low thermal diffusivity in thickness direction, severely restricts detection of deeper defects in compo...

Choosing the Optimal Coating for Thermographic Inspection

Lately, the method of thermography is becoming an unavoidable method in non-destructive testing of different metal materials and constructions. The application of this method is found in testing the energy efficiency, deterioration of structural components, as well as testing the energy efficiency of housing units. Using the thermographic method it is possible to reduce the negative environment...

Thermographic Imaging of Defects in Anisotropic Composites

Composite materials are of increasing interest to the aerospace industry as a result of their weight versus performance characteristics. One of the disadvantages of composites is the high cost of fabrication and post inspection with conventional ultrasonic scanning systems. The high cost of inspection is driven by the need for scanning systems which can follow large curve surfaces. Additionally...
